Thank you for being a customer of Mark Heard Fuel Company. We wanted to take some time to address what happens if you run out of gas, and why it’s so important that you do not let that happen at this time.
It is mandated by federal, state and local laws, that if your tank runs out of propane, we must complete a leak test. A leak test requires a member of our team to come into your home and shut off all of your appliances, conduct the test, and then re-enter your home to reconnect those appliances if your gas system passes. Unfortunately, there’s no way around this!
With the current situation regarding COVID-19, we would like to maintain the health and safety of not only our employees but you and your family as well. Having our team coming in and out of your home is a risk to all of us.
Many gas companies have elected to not refill empty gas tanks because of these laws and the risk it carries. While we have not reached that decision, there may come a time in the future where it is unavoidable or forbidden by government orders and empty tanks will not be filled until the emergency has passed.
We are asking that you please do everything you can to ensure that you do not let your tank run completely out of gas. If you have not done so already, please check the level on your tank and order accordingly. As always, we will deliver as promptly as feasible but allow for appropriate delivery times when reordering fuel.
